Does anyone know where I can download either for free or for purchase the entire Canon Pro service manual or where I can get a set of instructions specific for replacing waste pads on this printer? Also, does anyone know of a source for purchasing new waste pads?
Thanks for any help you can give me. I have yet come accross a service manual for the , but in the past I have removed the pads on other Canon printers, washed out the old ink, and good as new, It normally requires taking the complete printer apart to get at the pads so I suspect that the is no different.
Bob P. Good luck getting that. Steve W. I would think the Mark II would be very similar. I believe they have the same print-head, ink droplet size. The Mark II may include profiles for newer Canon photo papers, also. What I do after a session of printing is to use some paper towels to "blot" the waste pads - quite an amount of ink is absorbed wear some plastic gloves.
This method will only work in the long run if Canon has implemented a sensor for the waste ink level. Gday Larry I thought you had to strip the printer down to get at the pads but you seem to be able to reach at least the top of them easily. Thanks mate.
