You inspired him to alleviate poverty and injustice, and endowed him with untiring generosity in the service to all who were suffering. In family life, he revealed a most genuine love as a son, brother, husband and father. In secular life, his ardent passion for the truth enlightened his thought, writing and teaching.
His vision for our Society was a network of charity encircling the world and he instilled St. His prophetic social vision appears in every aspect of his short life, together with the radiance of his virtues. We make this prayer through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Vincentian Prayers Act of Consecration to the Sacred Heart Lord Jesus, Who, seeing the cold indifference of the world and in order to revive charity amongst all people, has unveiled before them Your Sacred Heart and revealed the infinite riches of Your Divine Love, behold us prostrate before You, we who form only one Family, by the bond of fraternal charity, scattered, it is true, throughout the world, but united under the standard of St.
Vincent de Paul, and forming only one body and one soul in the common spirit of the apostolate of charity; we dedicate and consecrate to Your Divine Person and to Your Sacred Heart this our Council or Conference , and all the members who compose it, the poor whom we visit in Your name, the youth and children to whom we respond in order to maintain them in Your service; in a word, all those of whom we have the care, and all the works we have undertaken in various places for Your Glory.
Quite unworthy though we are, we beseech You to receive this offering in the odor of sweetness; inflame us with that fire which from the depths of Your Heart You desire to see burning more and more each day, in order that, filled with the tenderness of Your Heart, we may learn to despise things here below, to love and help our neighbor, by word and example, and that, among the vicissitudes of this world, we may fix our hearts on the riches and happiness that shall never end.
Amen St. Louise de Marillac with a great love for the poor and abandoned. Grant us the grace to serve those whose lives touch ours with the same spirit of love and courage in these challenging times. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever.
Founders Prayers St. Vincent de Paul Tender God, refuge of the poor, You filled Vincent de Paul with the strength of the apostles to work for the salvation of the poor and the instruction of the clergy.
May we who follow the example of his life be driven by unceasing charity to continue the mission of Your Son in the world. Blessed Frederic Ozanam Almighty God, You blessed Frederic Ozanam with gifts of grace as husband and father, educator and defender of the faith, and founder of the Society of St.

Through his example and prayers, may we faithfully follow the path to which You have called us and one day join the saints in praising You forever. Online Donation Dear parishioners, I hope and pray that you are staying healthy — both physically and spiritually. Please let me know if the parish can help you during these difficult times. No doubt you are aware that our parish relies on the support of our parishioners to operate — parish salaries, programs and ongoing operating costs heating, water, electricity, etc. It will be a challenge for our parish to maintain operations without the weekly offertory collection.
Bl. Frederic Ozanam
Ozanam was born in Milan , but brought up in Lyon. Ozanam also found time to help organize and write for the Association for the Propagation of the Faith, a lay Catholic organization founded in the city with the aim of supporting Catholic missionaries, many of which came from the area. That autumn he went to study law in Paris, where he suffered a great deal from homesickness. Ozanam and his friends revived a discussion group called a "Society of Good Studies" and formed it into a "Conference of History" which quickly became a forum for large and lively discussions among students. Their attentions turned frequently to the social teachings of the Gospel. At one meeting during a heated debate in which Ozanam and his friends were trying to prove from historical evidence alone the truth of the Catholic Church as the one founded by Christ, their adversaries declared that, though at one time the Church was a source of good, it no longer was.
